Knowing the Jesus of the Bible, not a charicature

At the center of Christianity is ... Jesus Christ.  That makes sense.  In every age there are people or groups who will try to "enlist" Jesus to promote their cause - but they put their cause first and Jesus second.  What results is that they portray to the world partial truths about Jesus rather than letting Jesus truly speak and reveal himself.

A place to start

One member recommended looking at the idea of friendship with Jesus.  It can be helpful and transform prayer when we have a stronger sense of who it is we are talking to.

It also makes sense to me to start with Christ, since that is why we are called Christians.  Consider checking out this post by Christian singer Michael Card:
